This week I completed my final Game Design Document. It has definitely improved from last week but I found it hard to expand anymore than I have done, I feel this will change over the coming weeks and I will definitely be able to expand on it even more as the process goes on.
This process has made me excited to continue on the development of my game.
My Final GDD
Hey Eva, just read your final GDD and I have a really clear indication of what your game is going to be like. I think you explained your plans really well. I really like the simplicity of your idea. I think its important to keep it as simple as possible since we have only started creating games. I really like the name 'Monkey Goes Bananas' I think it fits the fun feel the game gives off. Maybe you could have a dodgy banana in the game that if the monkey collects, it will make the monkey sick and they'll lose some of their energy? Maybe it could be black and bruised. It is clear from your DunDoc that you've given a lot of thought to the look and feel of the game which I think is really important. I think you could make the terrain really nice for the game. The Unity Asset Store have so many free assets you could use to help you make your game. Can't wait to see the finished product! Good Luck:)
ReplyDeleteHi Eva! I really like the name of your game - its simple but effective and conveys what the game is about.
ReplyDeleteThe concept of the game is pretty understandable and realistic to achieve in the semester, so good job on picking something that can actually be made.
I really like Nicole's idea about dodgy bananas, but make it less obvious that they dodgy, otherwise nobody would pick them up. Maybe just randomly put the negative effects on some of the bananas that look completely fine?
Good luck!
Hi Eva i really like your game concept it sounds like a lot of fun, running around like a headless chicken to keep the monkey alive, sounds like a lot of enjoyment to be had with a crazy monkey, i'm guessing the game completes once you have gotten all the bananas in the game and the monkey is full? sounds fun.
ReplyDeletea few suggestions if i may, first i think you should maybe add in some puzzles to get certain banana's, another is you could make different sized banana's for the puzzles give more energy than just finding ones with no challenge, you could also enemies around the banana's that you could defeat to get them. i think all of this could add more to your already amazing game, either way i feel it will turn out great, keep up the good work and i'm sure looking forward to seeing the finished game.
Hey Eva!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of your game. It sounds like it will give us hours and hours of fun. I like the idea of having to run around endlessly trying to keep your monkeys energy up. I also like the idea of how the game opens, with your monkey waking up with a craze for bananas.
The cartoonish way you say that you are developing the game is also a great idea, as I do not see a game like this looking very realistic. I can`t wait to see the final product.
